Fantastic evening

Great and well balanced setlist. Sound quality delivered very well by the L- Acoustics system. Lighting/Video could have been better. Security did not know the rules for recording. Jim’s personal touch and interaction with the Las Vegas crowd was outstanding. Saw them about 3 decades ago, and they are still going strong. Thanks for a great evening to the band and crew. Hope the tour will be out on 4K/BluRay soon. ... Read more

Simply Spectacular

I have been waiting for years for Simlle Minds to tour the US again and was delighted when I learned of their 2018 return to the States. I traveled from Salt Lake City to attend the Denver show, which was my first experience with the Paramount Theater. The set list was a perfect blend of old, new, and everything in between. Mr. Kerr was exceptionally gracious and very interactive with the crowd. I was fortunate enough to be in the second row and for me the sound was amazing. The band performs a stripped down show with litttle in the way of fanfare, but that just allows the focus to be entirely on the music. And make no mistake, the music is still great. I would highly recommend catching Simple Minds before this tour ends... who knows when they will be back again? ... Read more

Don't call it a comeback

Simple Minds as a band are always morphing. This tour gave us Old School Jim and Charlie, with Ged Grimes on a surging bass, blended with younger blood on drum, backup vocals and rhythm guitar. The set list was a gratifying mix of material from their post-punk years, their Stadium years and their post Stadium years, which have some great songs. They can cull material from 18 albums and there was something here for everyone. The band were in top form, Charlie is critically under appreciated as a guitarist. Jim was in excellent mood and form, Ged's bass propelled songs along, and the younger blood added vitality. We got the crowd pleasing hits, the critically acclaimed earlier material and some deep cuts from their post stadium years. Two entire sets with a small break, over 2 hours of great music. Thoroughly enjoyable evening from a talented group of people. ... Read more
